WHEN YOU ARE LAID OFF BUMPED (LB), YOU ONLY HAVE 48 HOURS TO MAKE YOUR MOVE TO WHEREVER YOUR SENIORITY ALLOWS. PLEASE NOTE YOUR (EA) DATE AND TIME. YOU MUST EXHAUST ALL OF YOUR SENIORITY ON THE ROAD BEFORE YOU ARE FORCED TO MAKE A MOVE TO THE YARD. IF YOU FAIL TO EXHAUST ALL OF YOUR SENIORITY BEFORE MAKING YOUR MOVE TO THE YARD, YOU WILL BE LOCKED IN THE TUCSON YARD FOR 60 DAYS. IF YOU GO (EA) YOU COULD BE FORCED BY THE CARRIER TO ANY UNASSIGNED TURN IN THE SOUTHWEST HUB (I.E. SP317, LB432, SP563, OR SY131).

1. FIRST RESTED PERSON ON THE EXTRA BOARD (ROTATION) ARTICLE 23.C.1;
2. FIRST OUT RESTED POOL TURN PROVIDED IT IS ONE OF THE FIRST SIX TURNS IN THE SAME POOL (ROTATION);
3. SENIOR REGULARLY ASSIGNED RESTED BRAKEMAN WORKING FROM THAT SOURCE OF SUPPLY (SENIORITY ORDER ARTICLE 23.C.4);
4. JURIOR REGULARLY ASSIGNED RESTED CONDUCTOR WORKING FROM THAT SOURCE OF SUPPLY (REVERSE SENIORITY ORDER ARTICLE 53.C.1);
5. SWITCHMEN GEN 154-18, SECTION 3.C;
6. FURLOUGHED EMPLOYEES WHO DESIRE EMERGENCY WORK (SENIORITY ORDER) ARTICLE 33, F / FURLOUGH RECALL AGREEMENT.
FOR POOLS WITH LESS THAN 30 TURNS “THE FIRST SIX TURNS” WILL BE MODIFIED BY AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE PARTIES.
IN ORDER TO ENSURE A CONSISTANT APPLICATION OF THE ABOVE VACANCY PROCEDURE WITH THE OTHER VANCE PROCUDURES, STEP 4 APOVE, MODIFYING ARTICLE 53 SECTION C.1 FROM “SENIOR” TO “JUNIOR” REGULARLY ASSIGNED CONDUCTOR, WILL APPLY IN ALL VACANCY PROCEDURES FOR THAT SOURCE OF SUPPLY.
PERSONAL LEAVE OF ABSENCE PROCESS OR MLOA
IF YOU ARE IN NEED OF A PERSONAL LEAVE OF ABSENCE OR A MEDICAL LEAVE OF ABSENCE, CONTACT YOUR LOCAL CHAIRMAN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THE LC WILL CONTACT DRO AND THE DRO WILL CONTACT THE ADMIN AIDE. THE LC WILL ASSIST IN FILLING OUT THE P.L.O.A. FORM FOR THE MEMBER. ONCE THE FORM IS FILLED OUT THE LC WILL SEND IT TO ADMIN AIDE FOR SUPERINTEDENTS SIGNATURE (APPROVAL), THE FORM WILL THEN BE SENT TO THE REGION FOR APPROVAL.
